3rd OZCAR TERENO International Conference

Advancing Critical Zone science

The 3rd OZCAR TERENO conference is the third edition of a conference cycle organised every two years respectively in France and Germany by the French Critical Zone Observatory network (OZCAR) and the German TERENO network (Terrestrial Environmental Observatories).

The event will offer keynote lectures oral presentations and poster sessions on scientific research on the Critical Zone, which is the most superficial layer of the planet where all human activities concentrate. The conference will cover the cutting-edge scientific progresses in a variety of disciplines: hydrology, geophysics, soil sciences, geochemistry, ecology, socio-ecology and will highlight interdisciplinary research to address critical zone functioning in the Anthropocene.

The meeting will also show how the use of multidisciplinary Critical Zone observatories, highly instrumented field sites where these disciplines interact and produce data and models, provide new insight for an integrated understanding of the critical zone.

eLTER Highlight: Session 02 Long-term environmental observation for understanding the Earth system in the Anthropocene with conveners Steffen Zacharias (UFZ, Leipzig), Thomas Pütz (FZ Jülich), Jérôme Gaillardet (IPGP, Paris)

An overview of the Conference program is available here, and more details are available on the "Program Schedule" web page.
